Introducing our sixth batch of startups!
After a relaxing summer holiday, Urban Tech Helsinki had the privilege and honor of welcoming our newest batch of startups to take part in the incubator program for this fall.
Once again, we have selected a prime group of companies specializing in tech-based and sustainable solutions for urban/city-level issues. A plethora of critical problems are being targeted by our startups, from the lack of efficiency within the second-hand clothing market, to unnecessarily complex maintenance procedures of infrastructure.

The new Urban Tech Helsinki Startups are on stage in at least two events this autumn.
Our first Networking Lunch for this autumn is on Friday, September 6th from 12.00 to 13.00 at Urban3 in Maria 01. The event is a relaxed opportunity to share thoughts with like-minded founders, stakeholders, and Urban Tech Helsinki organizers. So join in, learn something new, and share your insights. The new startups will meet and share insights with stakeholders at the Winds of Change event on October 9th At Maria 01 from 12.00 to 16.00. More info to follow.
On December 13th at Maria 01 from 11.00 to 15.00 is the Startup Spotlight. This year’s Urban Tech Helsinki startups will pitch to investors and stakeholders. More info to follow.
Urban Tech Helsinki has a new project manager
Eetu Helminen has started as the new Project Manager of the Urban Tech Helsinki incubator program. Helminen comes from a startup, foresight, business development, and communications background.
He has previously worked, for example, as a Chief Impact Officer and Key Account Manager of Solved the Cleantech Company, as Communications Director and Chief Impact Officer of Helsinki Metropolitan Smart & Clean Foundation, as well as a Business Journalist for the Finnish Broadcasting Company.

Business Highlights: New business and investors for Urban Tech Helsinki startups
Urban Tech Helsinki startups have collected new investments and gained new business during the summer.
For example, Superhood is rolling out its services in Berlin, Germany, and starting a marketing campaign in Finland. A new community management solution for cities is also in the works.
Make a BIM, on the other hand, closed a pre-seed funding round over the summer to scale its operations and further develop its automation technology. The funding round was led by Kiilto Ventures, with additional investments from Innovestor and angels from the Finnish Business Angels Network (FiBAN), including Kim Väisänen, Esa Kinnunen, and Teemu Jokinen.
Komu Homes has broadened its business scope by launching a comprehensive property management service powered by AI. In response to this expansion, the team has nearly doubled in size over the past four months, now totaling 16 members to support the growing demand.
