New initiative: Smart Business, Big Impact

Urban Tech Helsinki is part of a consortium that has launched an initiative to speed up sustainability change in the built environment, as well as develop new sustainable businesses. The “Smart Business, Big Impact” initiative aims to build practices that break down the barriers of purchasing from startups and collaborating with startups for cities, public organizations, and large enterprises.

Smart Business, Big Impact is an initiative by the Urban Tech Helsinki incubator, KIRAHub, Proptech Finland, and the KIRA Growth Programme. The initiative aims to seek solutions to 3-7 concrete challenges, ranging from area planning to construction and improving existing built environment services. They are used to create practices to help collaborate with startups. Cities, public entities, and large companies will be sought as the owners of these challenges, who will continue to acquire solutions and services in the future.

If you have a concrete project that you would like to be part of the initiative, please contact Eetu Helminen (eetu.helminen@aalto.fi).

Collecting data to make a difference – questionnaire about challenges

If you are from a Finnish startup or an SME, answer the questionnaire to help us help you. We are gathering data on the challenges startups face doing business with the public sector and large corporations. We will use the data to inform the stakeholders and also to build processes to buy from startups to speed up the sustainability change. Please answer this questionnaire.

Live discussion in Finnish

There will be a discussion on the topic in Finnish tomorrow (Friday, November 29th) at KIRAHub’s Urban Visionaries studio.
