City of Helsinki and New York City Economic Development corporation offer a unique opportunity for Urban Tech startups – join to hear more!

Urban Tech Helsinki is arranging a webinar 9.3.2023 together with key partners from New York – NYC Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and Tero Kuittinen, a New York-based startup enthusiast and mentor who has spent the last 10 years helping Finnish companies in their US expansion.

The aim is to forge links and create growth opportunities for startups between the NYC and Helsinki startup ecosystem. During the webinar we will hear from Sascha Oswald, representing the NYCEDC as well as gain practical insights for startups from Tero Kuittinen.

Startups will also have an opportunity to meet with Tero afterwards to get feedback about their idea and opportunities considering the US market.

Sascha Oswald is the Chief of Staff of Partnerships at New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). She leads the team’s strategy, which is responsible for maintaining relationships with leaders of industry in New York City and with business and government officials from around the globe; for developing public private partnerships that further NYCEDC’s mission to create good jobs and build strong neighborhoods across the five boroughs; and for leading business development on behalf of New York City. Previously, Sascha worked at various women’s advocacy organizations and on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Foreign Affairs and in Media Studies.

Tero Kuittinen has lived in NY for 19 years and spent the last 10 years helping Finnish companies in their US expansion – most notably Next Games, Small Giant, Huuuge Games, Zoan, Mekiwi, Benjamin, QuickSave, Return Entertainment and Infine. He has helped run several tech accelerators in NY with partners such as Samsung, Microsoft, Warner Brothers and New School. He has also helped Finnish companies to get coverage in places like New York Times, WSJ, Bloomberg, CNN, CNBC, Los Angeles Times, Financial Times and The Guardian.
