As the summer holidays are just around the corner, we want to look back into the first half of 2023 here at Urban Tech Helsinki and share some highlights.
During the spring we…
- Opened our 4th call and welcomed 11 new startups to the incubation program. You can watch their video presentations on our YouTube!
- Hosted three open Networking Lunches with special guests from Business Finland, Microsoft and Forum Virium Helsinki
- Started cooperation with the New York City Economic Development Corporation, thanks to the City of Helsinki. Following our open info webinar, three of our startups got to experience a trip to New York!
- Showcased our startups at Aalto Startup Center Demo Day and Arctic15
- Completed the 8-week onboarding period that included
- six Startup Power Hours for startup peer-to-peer support
- eight workshops covering the basics of startup business development: business model, funding, team building, comms, pitching and more
- A fun season ending afterwork!
- Finished the season with our partner event Winds of Change. Our startups connected with our valuable partners at Aalto University, University of Helsinki and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, as well as Testbed Helsinki and Forum Virium Helsinki. With all this we have been able to reach hundreds of people in our open events and create valuable opportunities and connections for our startups. And this doesn’t even include all the other events and meetings we have had with our partner network and larger ecosystem.

This is a good time to thank startups, partners and all our friends for making the past spring a successful one! It has been amazing working with so many people wanting to contribute to the creation of sustainable cities and to the Finnish startup ecosystem.

Our next call for startups is opening in October, but meanwhile we will be inviting you to our series of Urban Tech Helsinki talks during autumn. Talks will be an excellent opportunity to connect with the community of Urban Tech Helsinki.
